Robert L. Crawley, Founding Shareholder In Memorial (1929-1991)

James (Jay) A. Lee, CPA, founding Shareholder, was born and raised in Jacksonville, North Carolina (on the coast). Jay graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting and also graduated from Western Carolina University with a Master's Degree in Business Administration.

Jay began his career with a regional accounting firm in Charlotte, North Carolina and moved to Asheville in the early seventies to join a predecessor firm to Crawley, Lee & Company, P.A. Jay left public accounting for three years to serve as controller secretary/treasurer in industry, returning to public accounting in 1979 to open his own practice, which in 1983 merged with R. Lynn Crawley to form Crawley, Lee & Company, P.A.

Jay is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Jay and his wife, Wendy, enjoy their two children at home, Keith and Trisha, and their grown son J.D., who along with Jennifer has given them their first grandson, Isaac. The Lee family also includes two beautiful dogs. Jay's hobbies include working around the farm, sports cars, and model trains.

Jay is currently Treasurer of Terry Duckworth Ministries, Inc., attends Covenant Community UMC and volunteers at one of the local homeless shelters.



Jennifer R. Staton, CPA

Jennifer R. Staton, CPA, Shareholder, was born in Hendersonville, North Carolina. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Asheville with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Jennifer joined Crawley, Lee & Company, P.A. in January 1998 after graduation. Since that time, she has performed and been in charge of numerous audits and reviews along with preparing both corporate and individual income tax returns. Jennifer was promoted to Audit Manager in May of 1999, and in January 2005 became a shareholder with audit and accounting responsibilities.

Jennifer is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Jennifer and her husband, Chris, enjoy spending time with their daughter, Ava, and are members of Mud Creek Baptist Church in Hendersonville.




Kami Doty, CPA

Kami Doty, CPA, audit manager, joined Crawley, Lee & Company, P.A. in 2002. She performs and is in charge of numerous audits as well as prepares both corporate and individual income tax returns. Kami was promoted to supervisor of the bookkeeping/controller by the hour services in May of 2004, and in November 2006 became the audit manager.

Kami is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of North Carolina at Asheville with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She is also a graduate of Western Carolina University with a Master's Degree in Accountancy.

Kami is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Kami, a native of Asheville, is an active member of Arden Presbyterian Church and enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with family.

Michelle Jones Mullinax, CPA

Michelle Jones Mullinax, CPA was born in Hendersonville, North Carolina. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Asheville with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Michelle joined Crawley, Lee & Company, P.A. in June 2009. Before joining Crawley, Lee and Company, P.A., Michelle was a senior accountant with a firm in Hendersonville. She has been in public accounting for the past eleven years where she has performed many audits and prepared corporate and individual tax returns.

Michelle is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Michelle and her husband, Todd, enjoy spending time with their son, Jay, and twin daughters, Laura and Lilly. They are members of First United Methodist Church in Hendersonville.

Julie A. Osteen, CPA

Julie A. Osteen, CPA is a graduate from Southern Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Business Administration.

Julie joined Crawley, Lee and Co., P.A. is September 2009. Julie was a senior accountant with a local firm in Hendersonville prior to joining our team. She has been in public accounting for the past ten years, and previous to that was an Assistant Controller in industry. She has performed Not-for-Profit, Governmental and other audits, as well as preparing individual and corporate tax returns.

Julie is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. She is also on the board of Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra.

Julie and her husband Montraville (Monty) enjoy spending time with their daughter, Stella and are members of Bethel Wesleyan Church in Hendersonville, NC.

Sammy Fong, CPA

Sammy Fong was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He is a graduate of Brown University with a Bachelor of Arts in Engineering. He also has an Associate in Applied Science in Jewelry Professional Crafts from Haywood Community College.

After working as a bookkeeper for over 3 years while earning a Certificate of Major in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, Sammy joined Crawley, Lee and Company in January 2007.

Sammy currently lives in Asheville and has been a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild in jewelry since 2000. In addition to making jewelry, he enjoys reading, cooking, hiking, contra dancing and spending time with friends and family.



Jennifer Jackson

Jennifer Jackson was born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina.and graduated from Mars Hill College with a Business Management degree.

Jennifer worked at Crawley, Lee & Company, P. A. from October, 1993 until relocating in June of 2000 to the Charlotte area. In June of 2003, Jennifer returned to Asheville and rejoined the firm.


Jennifer enjoys spending time with her two sons, Joshua and Elijah, and reading. She is also treasurer of Oakley Methodist Church.

Samantha Reynolds

Samantha Reynolds was born and raised in Hendersonville, NC. She joined Crawley, Lee and Company in January 2004. She performs and is in charge of audits and also prepares both corporate and individual income tax returns.

Samantha is a cum laude graduate of the University of North Carolina at Asheville with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting. She is currently pursuing the completion of her Master's Degree in Accountancy from Western Carolina University.

Samantha and her husband, Marc, welcomed the birth of their daughter, Emily, on September 1, 2006. They enjoy spending time together with friends and family. They are also active members of Mud Creek Baptist Church in Hendersonville.

Erin Matthews

Erin Matthews grew up on the coast of Wilmington, North Carolina. She is a 2005 graduate from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Erin joined Crawley, Lee & Company, P.A. in July of 2007, after deciding to relocate to Asheville. Before relocating, Erin worked as a staff accountant for a CPA firm in Hickory, North Carolina for a year and a half.

She enjoys music, traveling and spending time with her dog, Penny. Erin loves the Asheville area.

Damon Miklowcic

Damon Miklowcic grew up in Hillsborough, New Jersey and has lived in Asheville since the fall of 2002. He has a Bachelor of Music in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music in Boston. After obtaining a bachelor degree, Damon studied accounting at the University of North Carolina at Asheville.

Damon began working at Crawley, Lee & Company, P.A. in January of 2009. During his free time he enjoys making and listening to music, hiking and traveling with his fiancee Elizabeth.



Elizabeth Miles

Elizabeth Miles has been a resident of Asheville for over 18 years. She graduated Blanton's Jr. College as an administrative assistant.


Elizabeth joined Crawley, Lee & Company, P.A. in July of 2004, with over 10 years experience in bookkeeping. She continues to do bookkeeping, specializing in payroll and payroll taxes.


She enjoys spending time with her husband George.
